Wafeq handles UAE VAT properly and speaks Arabic, which for a Gulf finance team is most of the argument. Businesses look past it for one reason: they hold stock, run a factory, employ people, or have a related company in India — and those are not accounting problems.

The most direct alternative for a UAE services business: proper VAT handling, bilingual invoices and a big app marketplace. Stock depth is the same limitation it always is.
Widely known and well supported, with VAT handling that most UAE businesses make work. No batch tracking, and Indian GST is not really its ground.
Warehouses, batches, serials, bill of materials, payroll, HR and field staff, with the VAT 201 computed box by box and Indian GST available in the same account. The disqualifier, if it applies to you, is Arabic: we do not print it.
If your invoices must be bilingual, this comparison is already over and Wafeq or Zoho is your answer. We would rather say that on our own page than have you find it out in week three of a trial.
tBiz, if stock is the reason you are looking — warehouses, batch and expiry, serials and transfers are in the core product. The condition is that you do not need Arabic invoices, because tBiz does not produce them.
tBiz does, in one account: the tax regime is set per company, so a UAE entity runs VAT in AED on a January year and an Indian entity runs GST in INR on an April year under one login. That is unusual and it is the main reason Gulf groups with an Indian arm look at it.
With tBiz, yes — there is no Arabic in the product. With Zoho Books, no. That single question settles most of these comparisons and it is worth answering before anything else.
tBiz computes every box from your own documents, with emirate-wise standard supplies, reverse charge and a worksheet for bad-debt relief and capital assets. Zoho and QuickBooks produce VAT reports of varying depth; check yours against a real quarter before committing.
Chart of accounts, parties, items and opening balances move as CSV, and the onboarding team sets the company to AED, your emirate and your TRN.
Set AED as your base currency, add your TRN, and see the VAT 201 working build itself.
